Innisfree Poetry Journal

In 2005, after thirty years of law practice in Washington, D.C., I became founding editor of the Innisfree Poetry Journal (innisfreepoetry.org). My own poems, essays, and reviews appear in Bellevue, Boulevard, Gettysburg Review, Harvard Review Online, Poet Lore, River Styx, Salmagundi, Southern Poetry Review, and elsewhere. Awards include the Liam Rector First Book Prize for Poetry, the Boulevard Emerging Poet prize, and a grant in poetry from the Maryland State Arts Council. My four years of military service were punctuated by a year as an Army photographer in the Vietnam War, the subject of a number of my poems. I’m a graduate of Princeton University and Georgetown University's law school.
